Shane Pepper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Liddell.
Liddell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Liddell is defended easily by Pepper.
Pepper lands a left and a right that send Liddell crashing to the mat, dazed. Pepper thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Liddell is rocked!
It looks like Cain Liddell has been cut.
Pepper misses with a straight left.
Liddell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pepper as he avoids it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pepper feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Liddell sprawling to the canvas! Liddell rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pepper finish him?!
Liddell is still on wobbly legs! Can Pepper finish him?
Horrible takedown by Liddell or perhaps it was just good defense by Pepper which made him look bad.
Pepper sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Liddell's defenses. It connects perfectly with Liddell's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Shane Pepper!
