The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
silva wants to clinch.
silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
silva swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Staunton counters with a nice low kick that buckles silva's knee momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Staunton lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Staunton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Staunton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
silva clinches but Staunton breaks the clinch
and Staunton counters with a two punch combo.
silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Staunton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
silva throws a left and a right that both miss
and Staunton counters with a nice body kick.
silva darts in trying to clinch
and Staunton counters with a nice body shot.
silva closes the distance looking to clinch
and Staunton counters with a solid body kick.

silva wants to clinch up but Staunton keeps it at a distance.
silva fails with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Staunton lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
silva is looking to clinch but Staunton is avoiding it.
Staunton misses with a double jab
and silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

silva has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Staunton to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! silva is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Staunton pulls down on the head and he's put silva to sleep! This one is all over!
