Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murdock Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jr.
Kharitonov lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Murdock Jr has been cut.
Jr blocks a jab.
Kharitonov throws a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kharitonov throws out the jab.
Kharitonov connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

A big left from Kharitonov misses.
Kharitonov looks to land a combination but Jr avoids it well.
Kharitonov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jr.
A slow jab from Kharitonov misses its intended target.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kharitonov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jr.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murdock Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kharitonov lands a big right hand that sends Jr crashing to the mat! Kharitonov stays standing though and waves Jr back to his feet!

Jr is rocked!

Murdock Jr's cut is getting worse.
Jr drops his hands momentarily. Kharitonov doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Jr staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Jr doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
