The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doinel scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Johannson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johannson shoots in but Doinel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Doinel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Johannson.

Doinel is nestled in close to Johannson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Johannson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Doinel pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Doinel connects with a nice short shot to Johannson's temple.

Doinel uses his free foot to push down on Johannson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johannson.

Doinel has hold of Johannson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johannson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Doinel drops back looking for a leg! Johannson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johannson manages to kick Doinel off! Doinel jumps back into Johannson's guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Doinel lands with a shot to the body.
Doinel feints and then cracks Johannson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Johannson down.

Doinel has hold of Johannson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Johannson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Doinel cranks the arm and Johannson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Johannson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
