Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Donovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derek Donovan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Donovan!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rogers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Donovan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Donovan tries to avoid it but Rogers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Donovan to the ground. Donovan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Donovan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Donovan has managed to get both his arms back between Rogers's legs - danger averted.

Rogers steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Donovan. That one must have hurt.

Donovan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rogers blocks it with crossed arms.
Rogers jumps guard but Donovan stands there with Rogers around his waist. Rogers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Donovan tries to free his leg and advance position but Rogers is retaining full guard.
Donovan forces his way into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Donovan passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rogers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rogers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Donovan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rogers has Donovan in his guard.

Well Donovan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
