The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson stuffs the takedown.
Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gagnum avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Gagnum moves out of range easily.
Gagnum gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Gagnum pushes him off.
Jackson is looking to clinch.
Jackson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
David Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gagnum tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gagnum is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gagnum gets a clinch.
Gagnum swings wildly with an uppercut but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gagnum jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Gagnum around his waist. Gagnum gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Birger Gagnum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gagnum keeps control of Jackson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jackson misses with a knee to the head.
Jackson gets underhooks to prevent Gagnum's takedown attempt.
Jackson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gagnum has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jackson wants to break free but Gagnum has control.
Jackson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Jackson is trying to break free.
Jackson looking to throw knees to the head but Gagnum is blocking nicely.
Gagnum is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jackson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jackson tries a body shot but Gagnum blocks it.
Jackson connects with a knee to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jackson.

Gagnum ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gagnum no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Gagnum's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jackson looks gassed!
Gagnum throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gagnum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gagnum looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Jackson is defending well. Gagnum quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Jackson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Gagnum celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
