The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van Hahneman closes the distance and clinches up with Ryan, looking for a takedown. van Hahneman pushes Ryan against the cage but Ryan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
van Hahneman shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ryan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
van Hahneman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ryan defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus van Hahneman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
van Hahneman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryan as he avoids it easily.

Jeremy Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ryan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ryan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ryan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ryan looks to land a combination but van Hahneman avoids it well.
van Hahneman seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Ryan shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! van Hahneman is backing up but Ryan catches him with a final right hook that drops him! van Hahneman covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Ryan Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
