The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
westcott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by West Side.
Horrible takedown by West Side or perhaps it was just good defense by westcott which made him look bad.
West Side shoots in looking for a takedown. westcott tries to sprawl out of it but West Side keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. westcott manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

westcott cracks West Side with a big right hand but West Side just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
westcott misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

West Side has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but westcott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

West Side has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. westcott is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for West Side.

West Side had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. westcott is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. West Side Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take westcott's back instead.
