The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nansen.
Nansen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nansen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bailey paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nansen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bailey circles away quickly and effectively.
Nansen blocks a head kick by Bailey.
Jesse Nansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bailey circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nansen takes a swing at Bailey's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nansen tries to clinch but Bailey is having none of it.
Bailey swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nansen counters with a two punch combo.

Nansen misses with a takedown attempt - Bailey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nansen is looking to clinch but Bailey is avoiding it.

Bailey dodges the punch combination from Nansen.

Nansen throws a left and a right that both miss

and Bailey counters with a series of strikes that sends Nansen to the canvas! Bailey follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Nansen is rocked!
Bailey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Nansen tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bailey wants to pass the guard but Nansen is keeping the position.
Bailey trying to control the position from guard on top but Nansen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nansen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Nansen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nansen misses with a straight left.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bailey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nansen misses with a head kick.
Bailey slips a jab and a cross from Nansen.
Bailey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nansen tries to clinch up
and Bailey counters with a three punch combo that has Nansen backing up. Nansen nods at Bailey to acknowledge the strikes.
Nansen wants to clinch but Bailey slips to the side
and Bailey counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Bailey looks at the referee who does nothing so Bailey lands a crushing right that sends Nansen to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
