Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BN Howl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Mc Arthur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, BN Howl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Douglas Mc Arthur!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mc Arthur looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Howl!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howl can't escape the position.
Mc Arthur controlling from mount.
Howl tries to lock up and control but Mc Arthur gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mc Arthur is going olschool here, as he tries to force Howl to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Howl shrugs it off.

Howl tries to reverse the position but Mc Arthur maintains control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mc Arthur takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mc Arthur manages to capitalize on a mistake by Howl to take his back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Howl wants to get back to his feet.
Will Mc Arthur go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Mc Arthur is trying to stick to Howl's back but Howl is turning into Mc Arthur. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mc Arthur's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Howl.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Howl misses with a takedown attempt

and Mc Arthur counters with a shoot takedown. Howl fights it but they end up in guard.
Howl can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mc Arthur controls the pace.
Howl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mc Arthur postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Howl is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mc Arthur, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Howl stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mc Arthur swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mc Arthur wants to stand up but Howl is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Howl tries to circle away but Mc Arthur has him pinned against the cage.
Howl wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mc Arthur has him pressed against the cage.

Mc Arthur blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Mc Arthur manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Howl manages to get himself to full guard.

Mc Arthur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howl's waist but Howl gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mc Arthur off to one side.
Howl tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mc Arthur paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Douglas Mc Arthur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howl looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Douglas Mc Arthur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Howl tries to close the distance and clinch but Mc Arthur swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mc Arthur jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Howl walks away with a smile on his face. Mc Arthur gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Howl sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Howl wants to control but Mc Arthur is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mc Arthur is looking to advance position but Howl won't allow it.

Mc Arthur looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Howl wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mc Arthur tries to stand and escape but Howl is controlling the position.

Howl tries to kick Mc Arthur off but Mc Arthur keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Howl tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mc Arthur rushes Howl and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mc Arthur tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Howl wants to stall.
Howl fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Howl wants to get back to striking at distance but Mc Arthur won't allow it.

Mc Arthur manages to break the clinch.
Mc Arthur takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Mc Arthur feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mc Arthur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howl swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mc Arthur accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mc Arthur drops back looking for a leg! Howl is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Howl manages to kick Mc Arthur off! Mc Arthur jumps back into Howl's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Howl is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

And that's the end of the fight!
Douglas Mc Arthur comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mc Arthur winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
