PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James's entrance music is Shook ones. A fine choice. Robinson has chosen None as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Paul Robinson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesse James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses the shot to the body.
Good shot there by James.
James misses with a series of wild punches.
Jesse James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Robinson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in James's half guard.
Robinson moves nicely into side control.
Robinson advances nicely into full mount.
James reaches up to try and control the position but Robinson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! James rolls and tries to escape and now Robinson has his back!

Robinson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but James has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Robinson doesn't have the hooks in and James manages to turn into his guard.
James wants to stand and escape but instead Robinson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Robinson won't allow James to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
James can't keep his opponent in guard - Robinson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Robinson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and James counters with a stiff right hand.

and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
James cracks Robinson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

A slow jab from Robinson misses its intended target.
James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
James thows a body shot but no joy.
James throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Robinson counters with a straight right hand.
Robinson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Robinson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
James tries to bench press Robinson off him but Robinson keeps the position.
James bucks up and tries to throw Robinson off but instead Robinson has got his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

James is trying to defend against the choke here but Robinson has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Robinson Tightens the hold and James taps out furiously! Robinson displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paul Robinson!
