Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Turpin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turpin comes to the cage accompanied by Speak - Godsmack. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Turpin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Turpin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones wants a takedown.
Jones tries for a takedown. No joy.
Devon Turpin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Jones.
Turpin lands a left hand.
Jones wants a takedown.
Jones is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Turpin pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jones tries to pull guard but Turpin won't allow it.
Turpin lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Jones is working for takedown but Turpin is calmly controlling the position for now.
Turpin stalling in the clinch but Jones improves position.
Turpin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


Jones is rocked!

Turpin breaks the clinch.

Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jones forces his way into half guard.
Jones looks gassed!
Turpin is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jones jumps into side control!

Jones tries for a kimura but Turpin is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turpin pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Turpin misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Turpin is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turpin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jones asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Turpin tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Turpin tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.
Turpin wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Turpin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Turpin fails in his attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Turpin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Turpin has managed to clinch.

Turpin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Turpin tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Turpin wants to clinch.
Turpin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.

Jones feints and as Turpin raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones stops Turpin from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Turpin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.
Turpin is looking to escape.
Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Turpin wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones passes to side control.
Turpin is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.
Jones advances to full mount.
Jones just content to control the position.
Turpin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jones has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Jones wants to control but Turpin is keeping him busy.
Turpin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Turpin bucks up and tries to throw Jones off but instead Jones has got his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Turpin won't enjoy being in this position. Jones looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Turpin is tapping - it's over boys! Jones picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jimmy Jones!
