Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ready Go (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ready Go!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Randy Piper!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Go throws a looping overhand right but Piper ducks down to avoid it.

Piper gets a takedown into half guard.
Go is refusing to be controlled, as Piper sits in half guard.
Go looks like he's trying to stand up.
Piper is stalling here. Go is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Piper seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Go has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Piper struggling a bit here.
Go could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Go wants to lay and pray for a moment but Piper keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Go looking to control but instead Piper has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Go content to control rather than advance.
Piper works his way to full guard. Good work.
Go controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Go is in close to Piper's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Go controlling from the top position.
Go trying to control but Piper is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Piper working a defensive guard here.
Piper might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Go kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Piper is on top in guard.
Piper pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Go is keeping the position for now.
Piper won't allow Go to get back to his feet.

Piper looking to sit in guard and control but Go gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Piper not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Go scoring with some ground and pound.
Go missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Go stands up over Piper, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Piper is trying to keep Go in close.
Go controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Piper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Go trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Go with a nice head shot there.
Go looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Go got a little sloppy there for a moment and Piper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Go has managed to get both his arms back between Piper's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ready Go will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Piper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Go sprawls well. Go wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Piper gets slowly back to his feet.

Go shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Piper's guard.
Go throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Piper works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Go landing some decent shots from guard.
Piper is looking to stand back up but Go counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Piper.
Piper has hold of Go's hands but Go slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Go trying to control from Piper's half guard. Piper has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piper is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Go slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Go might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Go seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Piper for as long as he can get away with.
Go slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Piper.
Piper is not content to let Go control the position.
Piper is looking for a sweep. Go is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Piper is breathing heavily.
Go slows the pace down in half guard.
Piper is trying to stand up here but Go is controlling him well.
Go winds up and cracks Piper with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Go content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Go stops Piper from getting back to his feet.
Go controlling the pace.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ready Go just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Go drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Go is putting a hurting on Piper here, landing some big shots from side control.
Piper taking punishment in the form of punches.
Go works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Piper is looking for a sweep.
The referee asks Go politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Go prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Go scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Piper to see if he's OK.
Piper tries to bench press Go off him but Go keeps the position.
Go lands a nice forearm strike.
Go lands a few punches from side control.
Piper tries to buck Go off but Go is having none of it.
Go moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Piper takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Go working the head and body with strikes.
Go is staying tight to Piper's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ready Go dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Piper doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Go counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Go sitting in guard here, content to control.
Piper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Go preventing the sweep.
Go is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Go scoring with some ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Go advances to half guard.

Piper moves into full guard.
Go slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Go lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Go sitting in guard here, content to control.

Piper pushes Go off and scrambles back to his feet.

Go scores with a takedown into Piper's guard.

Go is working Piper over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Go has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Go thows a big elbow that misses.
Go seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Go cracks Piper with a solid left hand.
Piper preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Go avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Piper is trying to keep Go in close.

Go with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Go is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Piper is trying to keep Go in close.
Go keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Piper's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Piper not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Go controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Go landing with the ground and pound.
Go controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ready Go is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Piper is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Go preventing the sweep.
Randy Piper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Piper isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Go stacks Piper on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Go!

And that's the end of the fight!
Ready Go showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Go has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
