Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zach Leduc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaiser Soze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leduc comes to the cage accompanied by The Spirit Never Dies. Kaiser Soze has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Zach Leduc's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Leduc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaiser Soze!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leduc connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Soze throws a right hand that Leduc ducks under and follows up with a left that Leduc also avoids with ease.
Soze wants to clinch up but Leduc keeps it at a distance.
Leduc shoots in for a takedown but Soze shows good takedown defense.
Leduc really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Soze ducks under a wild hook from Leduc.
Soze throws a right and a left that Leduc avoids nicely.
Leduc will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Leduc closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Soze did well to prevent Leduc getting side control.

Leduc is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Soze defends it well.

Leduc is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Soze has managed to free his arm - good work.

Soze throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Leduc blocks it with crossed arms.
Soze lands an elbow inside that Leduc shrugs off.
Leduc drops down looking for an ankle pick but Soze pulls his leg out and moves away.
Soze throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Soze lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Leduc throws a sloppy head kick and Soze moves out of range easily.
Soze stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A combination from Soze does no damage.
The crowd cheers as Soze lands an impressive looking overhand right. Leduc doesn't seem phased though.
Leduc fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Soze clinches up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Soze pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Soze fails with an attempt to clinch.
Leduc throws a leg kick

and Soze counters by moving into the clinch.

Soze's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Soze doesn't manage to clinch there - Leduc circles away.
Leduc swats away the attempt to clinch by Soze.
Leduc shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soze sprawls well. Soze wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Leduc gets slowly back to his feet.
Soze is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Leduc looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Soze is fending him off so far but Leduc persists. Nope, Soze circles away and we're back to standing.
Leduc slips a jab and a cross from Soze.
Soze misses with a two punch combination.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Soze.
Soze drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Leduc pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Soze connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Leduc momentarily.
Horrible takedown by Leduc or perhaps it was just good defense by Soze which made him look bad.

Leduc tries to move into range but Soze moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Soze misses with a series of wild punches.

Leduc lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Leduc shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soze but Soze pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Soze dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Leduc. That did some damage!
Leduc lands with a hook. Soze tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Kaiser Soze dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Leduc throws the left hand but Soze avoids the punch easily.

Leduc gets a takedown into half guard.
Leduc uses his free foot to push down on Soze's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Soze.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soze avoids a series of strikes thrown by Leduc.
Leduc lands a nice shot to the head.
Soze wants to hold on but Leduc pushes him away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Leduc has hold of Soze's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Soze manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Soze holds on, trying desperately to control.

Leduc goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Soze is on top in guard.
Leduc is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Soze gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Leduc postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Soze is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Leduc, into his guard.
Soze must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Leduc is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Leduc shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Soze manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Leduc gets to his feet. Soze looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Leduc is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Leduc decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Soze, up you get!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Leduc is defended easily by Soze.
Soze misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Soze has Leduc up against the cage in a clinch.
Soze has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Soze prevents the takedown attempt.
Soze tries to land a knee to the head but Leduc blocks with his arms.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leduc is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Leduc is pushing down on Soze's leg trying to pass to half guard. Soze is fighting to maintain full guard but Leduc has managed to sneak the leg through.

Soze keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Soze won't allow Leduc to pass to mount.

Leduc is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Soze is just riding it out for now. Leduc eventually gives up the hold.
Soze wants to get back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Leduc is working for a kimura but Soze is defending it quite comfortably.
Soze is trying to stand back up but Leduc is controlling him
Leduc thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Soze's head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Leduc shoots for a takedown but Soze saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Soze stuffs the takedown attempt from Leduc. Leduc gets slowly back to his feet.
A nice leg kick lands there from Soze.

Soze moves into the clinch.
Leduc tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Soze smiles and moves away.
Soze will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zach Leduc showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Leduc has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
