Payne kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ice Ice baby. Andrew Payne could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bob Wilson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne missing with a left hand there. Wilson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Wilson gets a takedown into half guard.
Payne wants to get back to full guard.
Wilson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Wilson uses his free foot to push down on Payne's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Payne.

Wilson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Wilson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Despite being in the dominant position, Bob Wilson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Payne escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wilson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wilson is pushing down on Payne's leg trying to pass to half guard. Payne is fighting to maintain full guard but Wilson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bob Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wilson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Payne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Well Wilson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
