The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

bugly shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bertha looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
bugly dives in and grabs Bertha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bertha pushes down on bugly's head and hops out.
bugly shoots in for a takedown but Bertha shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bertha pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bertha throws a leg kick but bugly checks it.
No joy there for Bertha, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - bugly has eaten all the pies!
Bertha leaves bugly with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bertha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
bugly dodges the punch combination from Bertha.
Bertha throws a chopping leg kick but bugly manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Bertha lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bertha.
Bertha tries a head kick but it misses.
Some bone on bone action there as bugly checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

No joy there for Bertha, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

bugly shoots in looking for a takedown. Bertha tries to sprawl out of it but bugly keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bertha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bertha lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The cut above ugly bugly's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Bertha rushes bugly with punches - bugly moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, bugly goes down! Bertha follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Big Bertha!
