Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Local TuffGuy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bird comes to the cage accompanied by Bodies. Local TuffGuy has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TuffGuy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bird throws a right hand that TuffGuy ducks under and follows up with a left that TuffGuy also avoids with ease.
TuffGuy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
TuffGuy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bird!
Bird wants to control but TuffGuy is having none of it.
Bird tries to reverse the position but TuffGuy maintains control.
TuffGuy controlling the position easily from mount.
Bird wants to hold on but TuffGuy pushes him away.
TuffGuy controlling from mount.

Let's hope that TuffGuy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bird bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Bird looking to sit in guard and control but TuffGuy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
TuffGuy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bird keeping moving, preventing TuffGuy from controlling successfully.
TuffGuy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
TuffGuy stands and throws Bird's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Bird wants to get back to his feet but TuffGuy drags him back down.
TuffGuy moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
TuffGuy tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bird's legs.

TuffGuy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bird seems a little lost for a moment, as TuffGuy dominates the positioning.
Despite being in the dominant position, Local TuffGuy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
TuffGuy lands a jab to the head.
TuffGuy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
TuffGuy throws a head kick but Bird moves out of range.
TuffGuy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Bird lands with a kick to the temple. TuffGuy shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

TuffGuy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bird gets back to full guard.
TuffGuy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

TuffGuy looking to sit in guard and control but Bird gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bird wants to control from the top but TuffGuy keeps moving.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
TuffGuy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bird but Bird pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and TuffGuy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
TuffGuy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bird does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
TuffGuy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
TuffGuy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bird knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Well, if TuffGuy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
TuffGuy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bird sprawls well. Bird wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. TuffGuy gets slowly back to his feet.
Bird swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Bird is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
A nice elbow there by TuffGuy.
TuffGuy is going olschool here, as he tries to force Bird to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bird shrugs it off.
TuffGuy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
TuffGuy can't control as he wanted to and Bird manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Bird is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bird pushes TuffGuy off looking to stand but TuffGuy dives back in and keeps control.
Bird wants to control but TuffGuy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
TuffGuy stands up and beckons Bird to join him on the feet.

Kevin Bird is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Bird counters with a left and a right that stings TuffGuy.

TuffGuy is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
TuffGuy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
