Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terry Etim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Brophy!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Etim throws a leg kick but Brophy sees it coming and moves out of range.
Etim turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Etim misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brophy.
Brophy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Etim throws a push kick but Brophy slaps the foot to one side.
Etim tries a head kick but it misses.

Etim throws a nice looking combination but Brophy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Etim scores with a one two! Brophy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Brophy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Etim can pounce on him.

Etim throws a right hand that Brophy ducks under and follows up with a left that Brophy also avoids with ease.

Terry Etim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Etim throws a jab but it's blocked by Brophy.
Brophy slips a jab and a cross from Etim.
Brophy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Etim explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Etim throws a series of punches but Brophy avoids them all with ease.
Brophy checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Brophy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Etim tries to score with a low kick but Brophy moves his leg out of the way.
Etim feints and then cracks Brophy's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Brophy down.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brophy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Etim's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Etim throws a leg kick which misses Brophy's front leg but catches the back leg as Brophy tries to avoid it.

and Etim counters with a three punch combo that has Brophy backing up. Brophy nods at Etim to acknowledge the strikes.

Etim stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Etim wants it to stay on the feet.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Etim here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brophy misses with a few strikes there.
Etim throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Brophy throws a series of punches but Etim avoids them all with ease.
Etim keeps the fight on the outside.
Brophy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Etim did well to prevent Brophy getting side control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brophy in particular looking to stall.

Brophy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Etim tries to avoid it but Brophy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Etim to the ground. Etim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Etim moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Brophy fails with a takedown attempt.

Craig Brophy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Brophy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Etim won't be happy with that.
Etim is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Brophy has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Brophy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Etim some visible discomfort.
