Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Slapper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingo Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slapper comes to the cage accompanied by Dr. Worm. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Slapper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kingo Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo clobbers Slapper with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kongo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kongo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kingo Kongo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kongo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kongo tries to clinch up but Slapper circles away and keeps his distance.
Kongo tries to clinch but Slapper moves out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Slapper. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Slapper.
Slapper fails with an attempt to clinch.
Slapper throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kongo.
Kongo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kongo wants to clinch but Slapper slips to the side
and Slapper counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kongo throws a series of punches but Slapper avoids them all with ease.
Kongo throws a hook to the side of Slapper's head but Slapper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Kongo tries to clinch

and Slapper counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Slapper trying to control the position from guard on top but Kongo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kongo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kongo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slapper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kongo wants to stand but Slapper is controlling the position.
Slapper working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kongo wants to sweep but no luck.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kongo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kongo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Slapper keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kongo's head.

Kongo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Slapper trying to control but Kongo is working from the bottom.
Kongo is looking to stand up but Slapper isn't so interested in that idea.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kongo looks to land a combination. Slapper sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kongo wants to clinch
and Slapper counters with a nice uppercut.
Kingo Kongo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kongo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kongo moves in looking to clinch but Slapper pushes him off.
Slapper scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kongo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Slapper dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kongo tests Slapper's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kongo.
Kongo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kongo lands a right hook to the body.
Kongo throws a right and a left that Slapper avoids nicely.
Kongo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Slapper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kongo's waist but Kongo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slapper off to one side.
Kongo leaves Slapper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kongo thuds his shin into the meat of Slapper's side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kongo thumps Slapper with a low kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kongo catches Slapper with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Kongo darts in and clinches Slapper up against the cage.
Kongo lands with a light punch inside.
Slapper takes an elbow to the temple.

Kongo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kongo moves into the clinch.
Kongo is working Slapper over against the cage.
A knee to the head by Kongo.
Slapper doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Kongo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Kongo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kongo digs a right hand into Slapper's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Slapper's gas tank.
The referee calls for Kongo to work.

Kingo Kongo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Slapper keeps the fight on the outside.
Slapper takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kingo Kongo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Horrible takedown by Slapper or perhaps it was just good defense by Kongo which made him look bad.

Slapper lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
A nice elbow there by Slapper.
Kongo tries to hold on but Slapper postures up.
Kongo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Billy Slapper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Slapper lands a nice shot to the head.

Slapper with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Slapper cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kongo is in a horrible position here. Slapper smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Slapper scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Slapper lands a big shot there that rocks Kongo but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Slapper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kongo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slapper connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BOOM! Slapper connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Kongo tries to reverse the position but Slapper maintains control.

And that's the end of the fight!

I think Slapper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
