The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pitta tries to bum rush Charles with a series of wild strikes but Charles uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Charles throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Pitta misses with a few strikes there.
Pitta throws a combination. Charles tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Pitta instigates a clinch.
Pitta keeps control of Charles as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Charles is pressed up against the cage. Pitta has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Charles down to the mat. Charles avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pitta dodges the punch combination from Charles.
Pitta scores with a jab to the body.
Charles throws a nice looking combination but Pitta bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No joy there for Charles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A punch combination from Charles misses.
Charles throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pitta stuns Charles with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Charles looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pitta clinches up against the cage.
Pitta breaks from the clinch.
Charles walks straight into a right hand from Pitta - that's dropped him! Pitta jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Charles from any more punishment! Charles complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dennis Pitta!
