PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Phaber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phaber comes to the cage accompanied by Monster. Manny Pacquiao will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacquiao misses with a series of wild punches.
Some wild striking there from Pacquiao.

Phaber takes the fight into the clinch.
Phaber with a knee to the head.
Pacquiao jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Phaber walks away with a smile on his face. Pacquiao gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pacquiao misses with a wild combination.
Phaber lands a glancing blow to the side of Pacquiao's head.
Pacquiao throws a nice looking combination but Phaber bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Phaber moves out of range of the body kick from Pacquiao.
Pacquiao looks to clinch

and Phaber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Phaber managing to block the knees to the body from Pacquiao.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Pacquiao just misses with a elbow thrown towards Phaber's brow.
Pacquiao is trying to break free.

Phaber breaks the clinch.
Pacquiao misses with a double jab

and Phaber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pacquiao takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pacquiao tries for a takedown but Phaber manages to get underhooks.
Phaber lands a knee to the head.
A knee to the head by Phaber.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Phaber creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Phaber connects with a nasty looking knee right to Pacquiao's face.

Pacquiao is rocked!
Phaber has Pacquiao pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Pacquiao is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Phaber - that's hurt Pacquiao badly! Oh, another knee lands and Pacquiao is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Pacquiao doesn't seem to be complaining.
