Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Lennon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Cameron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Richard Lennon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Richard Lennon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Lennon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Cameron!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lennon pushes Cameron up against the cage in a clinch.
Cameron tries to pull guard but Lennon holds him up against the cage and eventually Cameron drops back down to his feet.
Cameron wants a takedown.
Lennon is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cameron is defending well for now.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Lennon.
Cameron takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Brian Cameron has been cut.
Lennon stops a takedown attempt from Cameron.
Richard Lennon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Cameron.
Lennon lands a good knee to the midsection. Cameron won't want to take too many of those.
Cameron has Lennon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lennon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Cameron is trying to drag Lennon to the mat but Lennon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lennon wants to stand up but Cameron is controlling him.
Lennon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Cameron throws a strike but Lennon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lennon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cameron sprawls well initially but Lennon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cameron won't allow Lennon to pass to mount.

Cameron flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Lennon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Lennon trying to control from half guard but Cameron is working away.
Cameron is trying to maintain the position but Lennon is very close to passing his half guard.
Lennon stalling.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lennon blocks the strikes from Cameron.
Cameron wants to control but Lennon is keeping busy.

Lennon gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Lennon rushes Cameron and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cameron shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lennon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lennon.
Cameron throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Cameron is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lennon defends well.
Cameron looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lennon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Lennon is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Lennon decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Lennon shoots in and bounces Cameron off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cameron keeping moving, preventing Lennon from controlling successfully.
Cameron thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Lennon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lennon is looking to stand up but Cameron won't let him.
Lennon wants to control from the top but Cameron keeps moving.
Cameron tries to strike from the bottom.

Cameron is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lennon defends well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Lennon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cameron was covering up waiting for the punch and Lennon finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cameron wants to stand but Lennon is controlling the position.

Lennon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Richard Lennon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Lennon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cameron's half guard.
Lennon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cameron trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Lennon stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Lennon goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Lennon drives through and clinches with Cameron against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Lennon closes the distance and pushes Cameron back into the cage.
Cameron lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Lennon lands a knee to the body.
Lennon prevents the takedown attempt.
A head punch on the inside from Cameron fails to land.
Lennon cracks Cameron with a nice body shot.

Lennon manages to break the clinch.
A head kick from Lennon lands but Cameron takes it in his stride.

Lennon forces Cameron back against the cage and clinches.
Cameron has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lennon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lennon lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lennon lands a body punch in the clinch.
Lennon misses with a knee to the head.
Cameron takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lennon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Lennon gets to his feet - Cameron follows without any prompting.
Cameron swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Cameron tries to keep at a distance but Lennon has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lennon lands a nice knee to the body.
Lennon works on Cameron's body with a couple of short punches.
Cameron is trying to break the clinch but Lennon is controlling him.
Lennon is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Lennon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Cameron.
Richard Lennon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Cameron.
Lennon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cameron swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lennon thuds a left hand into Cameron's body.

Lennon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cameron struggling a bit here.

Lennon stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Lennon thumps Cameron with a low kick.

Lennon forces Cameron back against the cage and clinches.
Cameron tries to circle away but Lennon has him pinned against the cage.

Lennon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cameron tries to keep at a distance but Lennon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cameron tries to pull guard but Lennon holds him up against the cage and eventually Cameron drops back down to his feet.

Cameron has Lennon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lennon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lennon moves into the clinch successfully.
A bit of stalling here from Lennon.
Lennon comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Cameron drags the fight down to the ground.

Lennon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cameron has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lennon has managed to get both his arms back between Cameron's legs - danger averted.
Lennon won't allow Cameron to get back to his feet.
Richard Lennon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lennon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cameron has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lennon has managed to get both his arms back between Cameron's legs - danger averted.

Lennon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A head kick by Cameron misses
and Lennon counters with a series of strikes. Cameron will be more careful next time no doubt.
Brian Cameron has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Lennon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
