Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between les brydon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tiago alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). les brydon had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. tiago alves is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
brydon walks into a straight right hand from alves.
brydon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but alves paws at him with a jab and circles away.

brydon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
alves takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

The fight stays on the outside here - brydon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Horrible takedown by alves or perhaps it was just good defense by brydon which made him look bad.

alves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no alves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
brydon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, alves asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

tiago alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to les brydon.
