Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between PJ Benn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benn's entrance music is System Of A Down - Chop Suey!. A fine choice. PJ Benn has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benn shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jones pulls Benn in to control the position.
Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Benn tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
Jones wants to control the action but instead Benn gets a body lock and reverses into Jones's guard! Nice work!

Benn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Benn prevents Jones from getting back to his feet.
Benn tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Jones can't keep his opponent in guard - Benn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Benn works his way into side control.
Benn tries to move to mount but Jones blocks the move with his legs.

Benn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Benn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Benn has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Benn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Benn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Benn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Benn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones throws a series of punches but Benn moves out of range.
Jones swings for the body but Benn moves out of range.
Benn takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Jones wants to get back to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Benn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Benn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Benn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Benn in particular looking to stall.

Quinton Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Benn shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Benn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Benn feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Benn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

PJ Benn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Benn throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Benn finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jones keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Benn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Benn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Benn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Benn eventually gives up the hold.
