Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Strauss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walt Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strauss's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Immigrant song-Led Zeppelin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Logan Strauss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Walt Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strauss bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Strauss shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Strauss was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kowalski really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Strauss working for a submission but Kowalski is keeping him at bay.
Kowalski regains half guard.
Kowalski wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Strauss working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Strauss is looking to take a break and control but Kowalski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Strauss is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kowalski defends it well.

Kowalski looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Strauss working over Kowalski with some ground and pound. Kowalski looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Kowalski tries to roll over but Strauss keeps him under control.
Strauss drops an elbow to the side of Kowalski's head.

Strauss missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Strauss throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kowalski looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kowalski won't allow Strauss to pass to mount.
Kowalski trying to control here.
Strauss prevents Kowalski from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strauss is looking for a kimura here.
Kowalski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Strauss showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kowalski.
Kowalski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Strauss decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kowalski's guard.
Kowalski looks gassed!

Strauss is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Strauss trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Strauss won't allow Kowalski to sweep him here.

Kowalski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Strauss is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kowalski.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Strauss looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Strauss is chipping away with strikes.
Kowalski tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Strauss wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Strauss is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kowalski has escaped the position, nice work there.
Strauss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kowalski throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Strauss in side control, throwing shots but Kowalski defends.
Kowalski tries to buck Strauss off but Strauss is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Logan Strauss dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Strauss lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Strauss looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kowalski keeping moving, preventing Strauss from controlling successfully.

Strauss avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Strauss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kowalski swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kowalski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kowalski looking for subs off his back but Strauss has passed one foot through into half guard.

Strauss is looking for a kimura but Kowalski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Strauss to get the leverage.
Kowalski is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Strauss works his way into side control.

Kowalski wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Strauss has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Kowalski's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Kowalski is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Strauss!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Logan Strauss!
