Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Lee Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Pinto!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redmond misses with a takedown attempt - Pinto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Redmond shoots in for a takedown but Pinto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Redmond avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Redmond throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pinto's waist but Pinto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Redmond off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Lee Redmond. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pinto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pinto wants to sweep here but Redmond controlling him for the moment.

Redmond is working for a kimura but Pinto is defending it quite comfortably.

Pinto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pinto has his foot on Redmond's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redmond works his way back into a safe position though.

Pinto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Redmond is aware though and is defending well.
Redmond sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pinto's guard.

Redmond is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pinto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Redmond.

Redmond is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pinto is just riding it out for now. Redmond eventually gives up the hold.

Redmond has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pinto defend it? Redmond steps over the head and cranks it - Pinto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Redmond!
