Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akimbo Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper has chosen Almost Again as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jason Cooper has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Akimbo Slice's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Slice.
Slice comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A punch combination from Slice misses.
Slice shoots in for a double leg but Cooper sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Akimbo Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slice swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cooper clinches up with Slice and pushes him back against the cage.
Cooper keeps control of Slice as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Cooper throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Slice wants to break free but Cooper has control.
Cooper throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The is referee keeping an eye on Cooper - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Slice looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A nice right hand lands inside from Cooper.
Cooper has Slice pressed against the cage, preventing Slice from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooper wants to control but Slice is keeping him busy.
Slice avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cooper.
Cooper has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cooper stops Slice from getting back to his feet.
Cooper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slice does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cooper is thwarting Slice's attempts to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cooper throws a shot from downtown. Slice moves away and avoids it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Slice shoots in for a takedown but Cooper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Slice shoots for a double leg takedown but Cooper sprawls well. He's pushed Slice's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akimbo Slice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slice is breathing heavily.
Cooper looks to land a left hand but Slice moved out of range nicely.
A left and a right from Slice both land. Nice combination.
Slice lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cooper circles away quickly and effectively.

and Slice counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cooper's guard now.

Cooper is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Slice has his hands clasped together but Cooper extends an breaks Slice's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cooper.
