Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dean Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Victor Stone enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dean Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Stone!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Preston at a distance.
Preston fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stone.
Preston is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stone.
Preston closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stone circles away.

Stone clinches with his opponent.
Stone tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Preston just stands there and leans against the cage.
Preston wants to get back to striking at distance but Stone won't allow it.

Stone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Preston throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Stone lands a left and a right that send Preston crashing to the mat, dazed. Stone thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Preston is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stone forces Preston back against the cage and clinches.
Oh Preston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stone manages to break the clinch.
Preston seems to have got his legs back now.

Stone closes the distance and clinches.
Stone keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Preston's efforts to push away.
Stone unloads a knee to the mid-section. Preston lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Stone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stone wants to clinch.
Crunch! Stone slams his shin into Preston's torso.
Preston is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Preston is fending him off so far but Stone persists. Nope, Preston circles away and we're back to standing.
Stone stuffs the takedown attempt from Preston. Preston gets slowly back to his feet.
Preston throws a sloppy head kick and Stone moves out of range easily.
Stone listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Stone instigates a clinch.
Preston wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Stone lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Preston is trying to force a seperation but Stone has the dominant position.

Stone manages to pull guard.
Preston trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Stone manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Preston wants to stand up but Stone is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stone stays in close to Preston's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Preston not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Preston looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.
Preston is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stone is controlling him.
Preston tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Preston is working hard here to advance position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Preston as he jumps to the side.
Dean Preston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Stone.
Preston is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stone.
Dean Preston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stone scores with a takedown into Preston's guard.
Preston wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stone is now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Preston doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stone.
Preston is looking to control Stone's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Preston avoid being mounted?
Stone tries to stand and escape but Preston is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Preston moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Preston looking for a sweep. Not yet Preston, not yet.
Stone wants to pass the guard but Preston is keeping the position.
Preston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Preston is trying to control. Stone wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Stone dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Stone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stone wants to sweep but no luck.
Preston slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Stone is trying to keep Preston in close.
Preston trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom.
Preston prevents Stone from getting back to his feet.
Stone is breathing heavily.

Preston drops back looking for a leg! Stone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stone manages to kick Preston off! Preston jumps back into Stone's guard.
Preston sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stone's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stone is not content to let Preston control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Preston smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Victor Stone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Preston turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Preston, right into the meat.
Stone lands a nice shot that snaps Preston's head back.
Preston moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Preston feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Stone controls Preston momentarily but Preston frees himself.
Preston won't allow Stone to sweep him here.
Stone will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Stone keeping moving, preventing Preston from controlling successfully.

Stone is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stone striking off his back but it's not causing Preston any problems.
Preston looking to pass the guard.
Preston stands and throws Stone's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Stone stops Preston from passing to mount.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Stone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Preston circles away quickly and effectively.
Preston swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Preston lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Preston is defended easily by Stone.
Stone throws a right and a left that Preston avoids nicely.
Preston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stone tries for a takedown but Preston circles away easily

and Preston counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stone won't be happy with that.
Stone tries to buck Preston off but Preston is having none of it.

Preston thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stone tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Preston presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Stone tries to lock up and control but Preston gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Preston with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Dean Preston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Preston looking to secure an arm triangle but Stone defends it well.
Stone is trying desperately to improve position.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Preston moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Stone misses with a wild combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stone.
Preston throws a shot to the body.
Victor Stone seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Stone tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Preston misses with an uppercut. Stone saw that one coming.
Preston throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stone explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Stone throws a sloppy head kick and Preston moves out of range easily.
Preston dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stone. That did some damage!
Stone connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Preston attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Preston throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stone was covering up waiting for the punch and Preston finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Stone keeping moving, preventing Preston from controlling successfully.

Stone had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Preston is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Stone Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Preston's back instead.
Will Stone go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Preston has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Preston manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
Preston throws a front kick aimed at Stone's knee but Stone avoids it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stone keeps control of Preston as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Stone.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Stone can't break the clinch.

Preston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Preston shoots in for a double leg but Stone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Preston avoids the head kick by Stone.
Stone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Preston circles away.
Stone throws a series of punches but Preston moves out of range.
Preston scoring well with a low kick there.
Stone wants to clinch.
Preston throws a leg kick but Stone sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Preston closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stone did well to prevent Preston getting side control.

Preston looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Preston seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dean Preston showed his dominance in that final round.
