The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sinch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Sinch pushes him off. Jackson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Sinch closes the distance and lands a one-two. Jackson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sinch scores with a decent looking hook. Jackson blocks a head kick by Sinch.
Jackson tries to clinch but Sinch moves out of range. Jackson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sinch avoids it really well and circles away. Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ray Sinch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson looks gassed! Sinch scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sinch ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Sinch throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range. Sinch scores with a jab to the jaw.
That has opened up Quinton Jackson's cut even more. Sinch stuns Jackson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sinch fails to land with a series of punches.
Sinch throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jackson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sinch throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sinch lands with a nice body punch. Sinch stuns Jackson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sinch connects with a looping right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sinch throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jackson ducks right into an uppercut from Sinch. Sinch throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson. Sinch has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sinch avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Ray Sinch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Jackson. Jackson tries for a takedown but Sinch manages to get underhooks.
Jackson tries to pull guard but Sinch holds him up against the cage and eventually Jackson drops back down to his feet.

Sinch lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Jackson tries to score a body lock takedown but Sinch shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Jackson can't get the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sinch jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Sinch gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A combination from Sinch does no damage. Sinch tries to land a front kick but Jackson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sinch throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jackson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Sinch gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jackson.
Sinch cracks Jackson with a nice body shot. Sinch has had enough of the clinch but Jackson keeps him there for the moment. Jackson gets control of Sinch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jackson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Jackson wants to sweep here but Sinch controlling him for the moment. Sinch postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sinch wanted to stand there but Jackson had control of the position. Jackson wants to sweep here but Sinch controlling him for the moment. Jackson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ray Sinch dominated that round. The cut man is working on Quinton Jackson's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sinch lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sinch jabs at Jackson's body. Sinch throws a right hand that Jackson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackson also avoids with ease. Jackson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sinch backs up against the cage.
Jackson ducks under a wild hook from Sinch. Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Sinch tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sinch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sinch with a hook. Jackson walks into a stiff left hand from Sinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively. Jackson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Jackson throws a series of punches but Sinch avoids them all with ease. Sinch throws a hook but Jackson blocks it. Sinch scores with a one two! Jackson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Sinch, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Sinch against the cage but Sinch circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sinch swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jackson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sinch gets underhooks to prevent Jackson's takedown attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sinch trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sinch decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sinch tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sinch to the ground. Sinch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson slips a jab and a cross from Sinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sinch. Sinch misses with a few strikes there.
Sinch is looking to wear down Jackson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Jackson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sinch avoids it really well and circles away. Sinch lands a jab-cross combination.

and Jackson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sinch's guard. Sinch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sinch not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jackson tries to score with some ground and pound. Sinch controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Sinch tries to bench press Jackson off him but Jackson keeps the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sinch is working hard here to advance position. You can see the frustration on Sinch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sinch wants to get back to his feet but Jackson drags him back down.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jackson fails with the takedown. Sinch tries to clinch up and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sinch working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jackson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sinch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sinch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss. Sinch lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jackson! Sinch tries to control but Jackson wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Quinton Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far. Jackson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sinch controlling his opponent. Sinch trying to control but Jackson is having none of it.
