Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Nyce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corleone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Godfather Waltz. Nyce has chosen Welcome To The Jungle as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nyce throws a series of punches but Corleone avoids them all with ease.
Nyce connects with a right hand. Corleone shakes it off.
Corleone showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nyce.
Nyce rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Corleone moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nyce scores with a three punch combo!
Nyce swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nyce misses with a series of wild punches.
Corleone dodges the punch combination from Nyce.
Nyce throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Corleone closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Corleone is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nyce gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Corleone prevents Nyce from breaking the clinch.
Corleone tries to pull guard but Nyce won't allow it.

Corleone drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nyce gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Corleone shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nyce manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Corleone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nyce on the ground.

Corleone sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nyce's guard.
Corleone is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sonny Corleone will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nyce misses with an uppercut.

Corleone shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nyce's guard.

Corleone stands up and waves to Nyce to follow him.
Nyce misses with a jab, cross combination.

Corleone moves into the clinch.

Corleone breaks the clinch.

Corleone gets a takedown into half guard.
Corleone is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Corleone stands up and waves to Nyce to follow him.

Corleone drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Corleone landing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nyce is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Corleone has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Corleone swings around for an armbar but Nyce sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Corleone's guard.
Corleone wants to stand up but Nyce is controlling him.

Nyce tries to stand but Corleone is controlling from the bottom.

Nyce thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nyce is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Corleone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Corleone has escaped and now he's on top!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Corleone tries to free his leg and advance position but Nyce is retaining full guard.
Corleone throws a strike but Nyce rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sonny Corleone dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Corleone dodges the punch combination from Nyce.
Corleone slips under a jab.
Nyce misses with a few strikes there.
Nyce lunges at Corleone with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Corleone's hand.

Corleone closes the distance and clinches.
Corleone tries for a takedown but Nyce manages to get underhooks.

Corleone lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Nyce makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
A decent looking cross lands there for Nyce.

Corleone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Corleone lands in his opponent's guard.

Corleone postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nyce is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Corleone, into his guard.

Nyce drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Corleone manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nyce has Corleone in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nyce is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Nyce is looking to stand back up but Corleone counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Nyce.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Corleone stands up and beckons Nyce to join him on the feet.
Nyce throws a right and a left that Corleone avoids nicely.
Corleone throws a big shot that misses.
David Nyce has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sonny Corleone is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Corleone feints and as Nyce raises his hands in defense, Corleone changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nyce is looking to stand up but Corleone isn't so interested in that idea.
Corleone might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Corleone trying to control the position from guard on top but Nyce is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sonny Corleone showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Corleone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
