Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between donny smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Mangello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mangello closes the distance looking to clinch
and smith counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mangello's guard now.
Mangello is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst smith is controlling him.
smith works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mangello is looking to escape.
Mangello kicks off smith and gets to his feet.
smith shoots in but Mangello avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mangello moves into the clinch.
The is referee keeping an eye on Mangello - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Mangello ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mangello no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
smith has Mangello pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. smith pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mangello tumbling to the mat - smith dives into Mangello's guard.

Mangello utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mangello wants to get back to his feet but smith passes into half guard.

smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mangello does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mangello is trying to stand up here but smith is controlling him well.

Mangello kicks smith off and gets back to his feet.
smith lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Mangello tries to close the distance and clinch up but smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
smith scores with a shot to the body.
donny smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
smith lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by smith.
No luck for smith with that takedown attempt.

smith tries to circle away but Mangello has him pinned against the cage.
smith changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mangello fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mangello moves into range and clinches up with smith.

smith is looking to take a break and control but Mangello is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

smith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mangello controls the pace.
Mangello stands up and waves to smith to follow him.

smith gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mangello to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mangello seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

smith wants to get back to his feet but Mangello is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mangello content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
smith wants to stand up but Mangello is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mangello passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Mangello moves out of range as smith throws a body kick.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mangello takes the fight into the clinch.
smith changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mangello fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mangello fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with smith, pushing him back against the cage.
Mangello has smith pressed against the cage, preventing smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Mangello gets control of smith's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mangello will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mangello has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tony Mangello showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mangello throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to smith's body to avoid the submission. smith has instead reached around Mangello's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! smith arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
