Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stumpy Rutherford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutherford comes to the cage accompanied by Why Can't We Be Friends?. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Ben Jones enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutherford dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rutherford circles away.
Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rutherford defends it nicely.

Rutherford drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rutherford drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rutherford has Jones in his guard.

Rutherford has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rutherford.
Jones gets to mount! Rutherford was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rutherford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rutherford is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones looking to control but Rutherford is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Rutherford bucks up and throws Jones to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Rutherford darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Rutherford is looking for a kimura here.
Rutherford is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Rutherford might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rutherford has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rutherford can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
Rutherford could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones wants to control from the top but Rutherford keeps moving.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rutherford has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Rutherford's legs - danger averted.
Rutherford manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jones wants to hold on but Rutherford pushes him away.

Rutherford is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rutherford extends the arm and Jones is forced to tap!
