Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Daaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Meshuggah - Mind's Mirror. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Daaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Souza!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Daaz throws a body punch but Souza moves out of range.
A shot to de liver by Daaz. Beautiful body shot.
Souza takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Souza looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Souza slips a straight right by Daaz.
Souza tries for a takedown but Daaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Souza with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Daaz to score with a decent uppercut.
Daaz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Souza looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Souza takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A cross from Daaz lands.

Daaz sends Souza crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Daaz is motioning to the referee to let Souza up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Souza is rocked!
Daaz throws a shot from downtown. Souza moves away and avoids it.

Daaz drops Souza with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Souza looks back up at him and smiles so Daaz waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Souza is still on wobbly legs! Can Daaz finish him?

Daaz cracks Souza with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Daaz has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Souza to stand back up!
Nice defenses there by Souza.
Souza seems to have recovered his senses.
Nick Daaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Daaz scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Daaz lands with a cross.
Daaz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Daaz connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Souza tumbling to the canvas! Daaz pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Souza was done - good stoppage!
