The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zizou throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zizou ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Zizou throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vandam tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zizou paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vandam is looking to clinch but Zizou is avoiding it.
Vandam keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vandam bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zizou misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zizou looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Zizou misses with a double jab.

Vandam clinches with his opponent.
Vandam putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Zizou in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Zizou pulls Vandam into guard.
Zizou wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Vandam won't allow Zizou to sweep him here.

Vandam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zizou. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zizou is trying to keep Vandam in close.
