The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Steputivina sprawls well. Steputivina wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mir gets slowly back to his feet.
Bob Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steputivina misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steputivina sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mir somewhat.

and Mir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steputivina's guard.

Mir drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Mir as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Steputivina screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Mir! Nice submission victory there!
