Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Powder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Odysseus Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Odysseus Rodriguez enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Powder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Odysseus Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez stuffs the takedown.

Powder goes for an armbar but Rodriguez turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez wants to control from the top but Powder keeps moving.
Rodriguez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rodriguez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Powder kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Rodriguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Powder swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Powder has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rodriguez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rodriguez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rodriguez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Powder could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rodriguez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Rodriguez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Powder is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Rodriguez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rodriguez moves in looking to clinch but Powder pushes him off.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rodriguez goes for a takedown attempt but Powder pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Rodriguez counters with a shoot takedown. Powder fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Powder. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A close round but Odysseus Rodriguez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Rodriguez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
