Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Winfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mad has chosen Move aside and let the man go through as his entrance music. Mike Winfield could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Max Mad's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mad shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Winfield napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mad working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mad goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Winfield rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mad's guard! Nice work there by Winfield!

Winfield avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mad has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Winfield is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mad.
Mad is looking for a sweep.

Winfield decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mad to his feet.
Winfield misses with a double jab.

Mad looks gassed!

Winfield clinches with his opponent.
Winfield lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Winfield manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Winfield breaks from the clinch.
Winfield tries to clinch but Mad is having none of it.
Mad shoots in but no luck this time.
Max Mad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mad changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Winfield tries to avoid it but Mad manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Winfield to the ground. Winfield escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mad fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mike Winfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Mad.

Winfield gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mad blocks an uppercut.
Mad is working for takedown but Winfield is calmly controlling the position for now.

Mad stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Winfield.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Winfield moves into range and clinches up with Mad.

Winfield is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Mad is trying to trip Winfield. He has hold of a leg but Winfield is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mad persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Mad drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Winfield manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mad has Winfield in his guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Winfield sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mad's guard.
Winfield seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mad closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winfield circles away.

Winfield thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Mad if he has to take too many more of those.

Mad is rocked!
Mad drops his hands momentarily and Winfield needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Mad just on the top of the head. Mad drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Mad - he's done!
