PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Caldwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cruzer Dave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Welcome to the Jungle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Caldwell.
Dave ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Caldwell moves away.
Caldwell moves away from the strike by Dave.
Dave changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Caldwell tries to avoid it but Dave manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Caldwell to the ground. Caldwell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dave lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dave takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Caldwell wants to clinch.

It looks like Cruzer Dave has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Caldwell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dave swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dave pushes Caldwell off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Dave comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dave stalks Caldwell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Caldwell's face. Caldwell staggers backwards, shaken.

A jab-cross combination lands for Caldwell and sends Dave crashing to the mat! Caldwell follows him down to the mat - Dave regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Caldwell wants to work for an arm triangle but Dave is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
