The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Naug tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gouda swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gouda tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Naug counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
With the fighters up against the cage, Gouda throws an elbow but misses.
Naug looking for a takedown.
Naug tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gouda avoids it.
Gouda tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Naug smiles and moves away.
Fritz Gouda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gouda wants to clinch but Naug slips to the side

and Naug counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Naug.
Gouda lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Julius Naug has been cut.
Gouda avoiding damage as Naug throws knees to the body.

Gouda ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gouda no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gouda seems keen to control Naug's posture.
Gouda wants to stand and escape but Naug is having none of it.
Gouda looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Gouda pushes Naug off and scrambles back to his feet.

Gouda shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Naug's guard.

Naug has his foot on Gouda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gouda works his way back into a safe position though.
Naug really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gouda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Naug looks gassed!
Gouda connects with a couple of short punches.
Gouda postures up in Naug's guard and throws a big left but Naug blocks it.
Gouda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gouda won't allow Naug to sweep him here.

Gouda decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Naug, up you get!
Gouda wants to clinch
and Naug finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Gouda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gouda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gouda gets control of Naug's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gouda will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Gouda manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gouda lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gouda has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Naug's face.

Naug is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gouda locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Naug is forced to tap!
