Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Rover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Runner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rover comes to the cage accompanied by Drop The World- Lil' Wayne. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Rover!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Runner!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rover misses with a series of wild punches.
Runner has a takedown stuffed.
Runner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rover throws a head kick that misses.

Runner rushes Rover and presses him up against the cage.
Rover tries to land a knee to the head but Runner blocks with his arms.
Rover lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Runner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rover just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rover throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Runner blocks it with crossed arms.
Rover looking to throw knees to the head but Runner is blocking nicely.
Rover avoiding damage.
Runner tries to pull guard but Rover won't allow it.
Brandon Rover has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Runner.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rover throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Runner blocks it with crossed arms.
Runner tries to pull guard but Rover holds him up against the cage and eventually Runner drops back down to his feet.
Rover tries a knee to the head but Runner blocks it.
Rover connects with a nasty looking knee right to Runner's face.
Rover throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rover lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Runner tries to pull guard but Rover holds him up against the cage and eventually Runner drops back down to his feet.
Rover has Runner pushed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Runner is working for takedown but Rover is calmly controlling the position for now.
Come on Rover - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
A knee to the head by Rover.
Rover with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Runner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rover just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rover using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Runner has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Runner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rover gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Runner's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Runner jumps guard and drags Rover to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Runner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rover can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rover trying to stand up but can't free himself from Runner's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Runner is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rover is aware though and is defending well.
Rover knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Runner on the ground.

Rover stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rover moves into range and clinches up with Runner.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Runner tries to pull guard but Rover won't allow it.
Rover lands an elbow inside.
Rover misses with a knee strike.
Rover tries a knee to the head but Runner blocks it.
Runner tries to pull guard but Rover won't allow it.
Rover creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Runner jumps guard but Rover stands there with Runner around his waist. Runner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Runner fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rover misses with a knee to the head.
Runner fails to pull guard.
Rover landing knees to the head.
Rover is breathing heavily.
Runner is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rover pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Runner fails to pull guard.
Rover lands an elbow just above Runner 's eye.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rover gets through Runner's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Runner tries to pull guard but Rover won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rover with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Rover lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Rover displaying some good clinch control by pressing Runner up against the cage.
Rover creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Brandon Rover will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rover looks to land a combination but Runner avoids it well.
Rover tries to close the distance and clinch but Runner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rover throws a series of punches but Runner moves out of range.

Runner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rover is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Runner trying to control but Rover is working from the bottom.
Runner controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rover wants to stand but Runner is controlling the position.
Rover keeping moving, preventing Runner from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Runner scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Runner won't allow Rover to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rover tries to clinch up but Runner circles away and keeps his distance.

Runner shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Runner connects with a nice short shot to Rover's temple.
Rover looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rover is not content to let Runner control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Runner stops Rover from getting back to his feet.
Runner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Runner looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Runner is trying for a kimura here. Rover looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Runner wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jake Runner!
