The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pfeifer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ferreira.

Pfeifer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pfeifer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ferreira is looking to regain half guard here but Pfeifer keeps moving and retains side control.

Pfeifer is looking to take a break and control but Ferreira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Pfeifer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ferreira is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pfeifer passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ferreira!

Pfeifer goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ferreira is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pfeifer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
