PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean Devlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Munden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munden has chosen time of the season as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Devlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Munden!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Munden gets a takedown into half guard.
Devlin is trying is best to control the position here.
Devlin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Munden is working away from the top position though.

Munden seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Devlin has recovered full guard.

Munden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Devlin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Munden has Devlin in his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Devlin trying to control the position from guard on top but Munden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Devlin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Munden's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Munden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Devlin is aware though and is defending well.

Devlin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Devlin passes Munden's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Munden wants to control but Devlin is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Devlin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Devlin gets to his feet. Munden looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Devlin clinches up with Munden and pushes him back against the cage.
Devlin cracks Munden with a nice body shot.
Devlin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Munden keeps control of Devlin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Devlin jumps guard and drags Munden to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Devlin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Munden is one step ahead there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devlin is looking to clinch.
Munden displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Devlin.
Sean Devlin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Munden throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Munden misses with a series of wild punches.
Devlin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Munden moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Devlin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Munden!

Devlin goes for an armbar but Munden turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Munden.

Munden looking to sit in guard and control but Devlin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Devlin is in close to Munden's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Munden working for a triangle but Devlin defends it easily.
Devlin cracks Munden with a solid left hand.

Devlin stands up over Munden, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Devlin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Devlin wants to control from the top but Munden keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Munden not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Munden is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Devlin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Devlin sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Devlin stands up from Munden's guard - Devlin perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devlin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Munden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Devlin lands a nice forearm strike.
Devlin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Munden to see if he's OK.
Munden tries to improve position but can't.

Devlin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Munden is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
