Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Godin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Houston Sprewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sprewell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Godin to the mat! Godin manages to get full guard.
Godin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sprewell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sprewell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sprewell won't allow Godin to sweep him here.
Godin lands a decent punch to the body there.
Sprewell won't allow Godin to get back to his feet.
Sprewell trying to control the position from guard on top but Godin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Godin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sprewell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sprewell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Godin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Godin wants to sweep here but Sprewell controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sprewell has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Godin.
Sprewell looks gassed!

Godin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Godin wants to control from the top but Sprewell keeps moving.
Godin wants to stand and escape but instead Sprewell has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sprewell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Godin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sprewell has managed to get both his arms back between Godin's legs - danger averted.

Sprewell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sprewell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Godin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sprewell on the ground.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Godin is trying to improve his position.
Godin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sprewell is controlling him well.
Godin tries to bench press Sprewell off him but Sprewell keeps the position.

Sprewell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Godin, who protects the arm well.

Sprewell has hold of Godin's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Godin tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sprewell cranks the arm and Godin screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Godin, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
