PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Drwal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinjin Mouser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomasz Drwal had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomasz Drwal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sinjin Mouser!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drwal gets caught flat footed, as Mouser shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drwal wants to control the position but Mouser says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Mouser stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Drwal to get to his feet.

Mouser takes the fight into the clinch.

Drwal jumps guard.
Mouser trying to control the position from guard on top but Drwal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Drwal is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Drwal throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mouser escapes and throws Drwal's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Mouser happy to just control the position for now.
Mouser wants to stand but Drwal has his arm trapped.

Mouser decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Mouser tries to clinch up but Drwal circles away and keeps his distance.

Mouser closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Drwal tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mouser wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mouser stands up.
Mouser tries to clinch there but Drwal circles away.
Mouser tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mouser fails in his attempt to clinch.

Mouser pushes Drwal up against the cage in a clinch.
Drwal takes a knee right on the jaw!

Drwal pulls guard.
Mouser controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Mouser wants to stand but Drwal has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Mouser must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Drwal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mouser doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mouser manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mouser gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mouser gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Drwal tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mouser unloads a knee to the mid-section. Drwal lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Mouser connects with a nasty looking knee right to Drwal's face.


It looks like Tomasz Drwal has been cut.

Mouser breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Drwal wants to pass the guard but Mouser is keeping the position.

Mouser is pulling down on Drwal's head. It's preventing any offense from Drwal, at least for the moment.

Mouser looking for a guillotine here but Drwal defends easily.

Mouser had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Drwal is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mouser Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Drwal's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mouser is trying to stick to Drwal's back but Drwal is turning into Mouser. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mouser's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Drwal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mouser rushes Drwal and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Drwal is trying to drag Mouser to the mat but Mouser just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Drwal won't allow Mouser to get back to his feet.
Mouser keeping moving, preventing Drwal from controlling successfully.
Mouser is adopting a defensive guard.

Drwal is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drwal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Drwal drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mouser dives on top into guard.
Mouser would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Mouser stands up from Drwal's guard - Mouser perhaps looking for a knockout.
Tomasz Drwal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Mouser counters with a series of strikes. Drwal will be more careful next time no doubt.

Mouser shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mouser was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Drwal tries to lock up and control but Mouser gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mouser throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Drwal is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mouser is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mouser has escaped and now he's on top!

Drwal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mouser can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sinjin Mouser is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Mouser has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
