PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Epp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparky Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Burn it to the ground as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clayton Epp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jenkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Epp circles away.

Clayton Epp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sparky Jenkins.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Epp has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jenkins is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Epp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jenkins on the ground.

Epp is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jenkins gets his way!

Jenkins has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Epp has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jenkins is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
