PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Morisawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taka Osatoko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morisawa comes to the cage accompanied by M1dy - Cold Pizza. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morisawa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The fighters circling - Morisawa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Morisawa throws an overhand right that lands on Osatoko's shoulder, as Osatoko tries to avoid the shot.
Morisawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Osatoko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Morisawa blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Osatoko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morisawa works over Osatoko's head and body with a nice combination.
Osatoko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Osatoko digs a good hook to Morisawa's body.
Morisawa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Morisawa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Osatoko throws the left hand but Morisawa avoids the punch easily.
Osatoko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Osatoko wants it to stay on the feet.

Osatoko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Osatoko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Morisawa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Osatoko scores with a couple of nice shots.
Osatoko is looking to take a break and control but Morisawa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Osatoko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morisawa circles away quickly and effectively.

Morisawa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Osatoko manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Morisawa has Osatoko in his guard.

Osatoko throws a strike but Morisawa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Osatoko has his foot on Morisawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Morisawa works his way back into a safe position though.

Osatoko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Morisawa is controlling him.

Morisawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osatoko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Osatoko is looking to stand up but Morisawa isn't so interested in that idea.

Osatoko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morisawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Osatoko is breathing heavily.
Osatoko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Morisawa manages to get himself to full guard.

Morisawa is landing with some decent strikes but Osatoko is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Osatoko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Morisawa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Osatoko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Morisawa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Morisawa slips a nice elbow through Osatoko's hands, connecting with Osatoko's forehead.
