PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Torje (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bogdon Haze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haze comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mother kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Torje!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bogdon Haze!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haze blocks a jab.
Haze scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Torje doesn't seem bothered though.
Torje throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Torje fails with a takedown attempt.
Haze avoids a punch combination nicely.
Haze misses with a hook.
Haze tries to clinch up but Torje circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Haze bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Haze throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Haze rushes Torje and presses him up against the cage.
Haze is working for takedown but Torje is calmly controlling the position for now.
Haze digs a right hand into Torje's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Torje's gas tank.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Haze takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Torje can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Haze throws a nice looking combination but Torje bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Haze looks to score with a jab to the body but Torje is just out of range.

Haze has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Torje is trying to keep an underhook but Haze manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Torje fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Well Haze has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
