Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lalli Jaakonpoika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaakonpoika tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kang swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jaakonpoika shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kang's guard.
Kang wants to sweep but no luck.

Kang had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jaakonpoika is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kang Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jaakonpoika's back instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kang fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jaakonpoika manages to avoid it.
Kang drops Jaakonpoika with a left and a right! Oh, Jaakonpoika is hurt - Kang dives into side control looking to finish!

Kang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jaakonpoika knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kang is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jaakonpoika is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jaakonpoika misses with a takedown attempt - Kang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kang is looking to take a break and control but Jaakonpoika is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jaakonpoika is throwing shots to the body but Kang manages to wriggle free. Jaakonpoika pounces on him again and ends up in Kang's guard.

Kang is looking to sinch up a triangle. Jaakonpoika throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kang's body to avoid the submission. Kang has instead reached around Jaakonpoika's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kang arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
