The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie moves out of range as Smit strikes.

and Smit connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gracie fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Smit is out of range.
Gracie throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smit counters with a nice kick to the body.

Gracie sends Smit crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gracie is motioning to the referee to let Smit up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Smit's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Smit duly obliges.

and Smit counters with a series of strikes. Gracie will be more careful next time no doubt.
Smit moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Smit counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Gracie cracks Smit with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Smit counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gracie's knee momentarily.
Smit moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
The crowd cheers as Smit lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gracie doesn't seem phased though.
