Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hyde Vamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Connely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connely swings for the body but Vamp moves out of range.
Connely scores with a jab. Vamp acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Connely drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Connely is looking to work some ground and pound but Vamp has wrist control.

Vamp pushes Connely off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Connely stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vamp swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Connely wants to control from the top but Vamp keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Connely postures up in Vamp's guard and throws a big left but Vamp blocks it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Vamp walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Connely cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Vamp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Connely manages to avoid it.
Connely lands with a straight right. Vamp didn't see that one coming.

Connely throws a body punch but Vamp moves out of range.

and Connely counters with a shoot takedown. Vamp fights it but they end up in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Connely seems to be working for a kimura but Vamp defends the submission attempt.

Connely looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Connely moves out of range as Vamp strikes.

and Connely counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Connely avoids a punch combination nicely.
Connely steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vamp.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hyde Vamp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Connely.
Connely shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vamp as he jumps to the side.

Vamp with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Connely to score with a decent uppercut.

Connely looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vamp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Connely looks to land a strike but Vamp avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
